GRENADA – GRAND ANSE BEACH (MELANSON’S DID A TOUR)

On the water taxi going back to the ship.
Abadon wanted in on the pictures

Alexander Keith met up with a couple of locals.

Even Linda got in on the act.

Abadon showing us the sea eggs.

I wrestled a baracouda with my bare hands. You should have seen the teeth on that thing.

Linda made me jump out of the water so those ninny's on shore could take our picture.

Going over to Grand Anse beach in the water taxi.

In the water taxi.

Two Princess ships in port today!

Waiting for the elevator... going down

We were all up by 7am even though we could sleep in because we didn't arrive in Grenada until noon!! Kevin & David were up earlier and having their breakfast beer. After breakfast girls went for coffee at the international cafe and then shopping. Big sale on.... BIG Sale. Once we docked at noon we joined in the cattle line to get off the ship. Smith's and March's were going to the beach for the day and Melansons were doing an Island tour with Mandoo.

We got to the water taxi right away and darn.... they had a dock. No big events getting Linda locked and loaded and unloaded again – another dock. What's up with that. They should have known we would need pictures for the blog. We rented our beach chairs and umbrella and got settled in. The water, the beach, the temperature (over 38* again) were perfect. Met up with an 11 year old boy Abadon (sp?) and an older gentleman named Seppy. They were a couple of locals that were explaining thing in the water to us. We had a great time.

Roger and Arlene said they had a wonderful day too. I will not be able to post any pics of them as they have them all in their camera.

Linda is gone to bed but the rest of them are up at movies under the stars going to watch Sherlock Holmes. Starts at 10:30 if they're not all asleep up there in the chairs waiting for it to start.

Tomorrow is Dominica and we have a great day planned. Can't wait to see Kevin & David in the mud baths..... should be good for a laugh.

BONAIRE – HAD TO GO TO PLAN “B” (BUT WE HAD NO PLAN “B”)

Band at the White Deck Party

Arlene and Roger were missing... said they were tired and went back to the room. Not even 9 o'clock!!!!

Alexander Keith's makes a stop in Bonaire. Everyone starting taking picture of it!!!

Arlene and David taking a break

Rainbow colored fish

Lots and Lots of fish!

Getting his flippers on

It was almost 9am and they made the rest of us have a beer!!

Can you guess who is sleeping behind David!!

Everybody was up early to catch the water taxi to Kline Bonaire. We were off the ship amongst the first to get off. We take enough stuff with us to last most people 3 days and we were only going for 4 hours. 3 backpacks, 2 hand bags and 2 cooler bags full of ice and beer. We walked down the road to catch the water taxi (BTW it is only 26* at 7:30am) only to find out it doesn't start till 10. Walked a little farther to the next one and same thing. So we walked all the way back to our ship (some stomped – sweat dripping from their chins – not our fault they wanted all that beer and ice) to get a taxi as they were all down there. Found a nice guy with a van to take us to Eden Beach for the day and it turned out to be a wonderful day.

Bonaire is all reef so snorkelling is about the best in the Caribbean. To slippery and too much coral for Linda to swim but the rest of us snorkelled on and off for 4 hours. Roger didn't snorkel but he got wet. There were tons of fish and the water was nice and refreshing. Temperature was over 36* and we loved every minute of it. Few injuries today – David and Barb both got cut by the coral trying to get in and out of the water. Barb also sat on a piece of fire coral and had to get someone from the dive shop to look at it to make sure it didn't require medical attention.

Our cab driver picked us up at 1 as requested and back to the ship we went. We left Bonaire and head to Grenada. We arrived there at 12:00 noon. We are taking a water taxi over to Grand Anse beach. I expect the getting in and Hout of the water taxi will be the big events today!!!!

Arlene & Roger want some more "alone time" so they are headed off to a Island Tour with Mandoo!

Hi everyone from Mom (Nana) and Dad (Grampie). Got your message and glad everything is going smooth – Ha Ha. Did Max get his ship built yet? Grampie is anxious to play with it. Hope Sophia is being a great help to Mommie and we miss you all very much. What is the weather like there – only in the 90's here (!!!!!!!) Love you all our hearts. Got ya last! See you Soon . Aruba Sunrise

We were all up by 7 (even Arlene) and up to the buffet for breakfast. We finished and then went and walked right off the ship and got a taxi to the Divi Resort to pick up our jeeps!! We're all pumped. We all the papers filled out and off we went. Drove to the California Lighthouse and then took the main road to the chapel. Then we went off roading......and ended up heading to the Natural Pool ( we read later a notice on the windshield that was one place we were not to go). Needless to say... Arlene's jeep (girl jeep – boy jeep) overheated and we were in the middle of nowhere!!! Steaming and spewing fluid we looked at our options. Decided to let it cool and then turn around and go back to the main road. Took us about 1.5 hours stopping every time the jeep kept heating to get back to the Divi Resort to turn the darn things in. Don't get me wrong... we had a fun day up to that point and the trip would not be complete without an adventure.

Needless to say we tried to argue with the attendant that we shouldn't have to pay the full amount. After all we were back 2 hours early and we spent most of our time away stopping to let the jeep cool. Kevin had to pay full price for his... Arlene and Roger got a discount of 15%. Ended up we paid $118 and they paid $112 – Kim you may have to fight a battle for them when they get back. I plan on trying to fight one for us. Likely won't help and we won't be telling them where we were going... shhhh.... but we will try.

After returning the jeeps we stayed at the resort and all got cooled off in the beautiful ocean and had a beer or two.

Arlene & Roger want to congratulate Megan on her being picked for SDD conference in Regina. They will make a sizeable contribution to the cost as most grandparents would. BTW Family of Arlene & Roger – We are having problems with Arlene acting out in the evening's. Will report on tonight since yesterday may have been caused by the wine tasting they went to. Mary – Arlene said to tell you she is haveing a great time and drinking lots of rye. Barb will add ... and beer.

David says...Max glad the party was great.. you will have to show me all the presents when we get back. What color is base? Love you with all my heart. See you soon. For Sophia – glad you like the pony rides and got you last. Red is base. Love you with all my heart.. nany and grampy xoxoxo those are for Wendi & Brian too.

We have watched movies while sunbathing. Up, The Proposal, MJ This is it, Mama Mia, Yes Man, Ghosts of G'friends Past.

Arlene drug Roger to the shopping seminar!! Be sure to ask him about that when he gets home..lol

David trying to get Linda to drink beer!!! BTW as a side note.. Kevin and David are worried they will run out of booze!!! They haven't even gotten their 18 beer each from room service that we pre ordered for them!!!

Sunrise this morning

Day Two is drawing to a close. We are going to the dining room for dinner. We are all baked in the sun as the weather has been beautiful. Arlene and Roger have gone to the wine tasting this afternoon. They left at 2:45 and are not back yet!!! That could be trouble for Roger tonight. Your right Starr about Arlene and red wine.... we have seen it in the past... telling everyone about her "french high cuts"... gastly.

We are having a great time. Tomorrow is Aruba.

Wendi.... David wants you to let him know how the party went. Kiss our boy and girl. They miss you guys too....

Well I got to go... more another time.

Sail away party and a couple of people we knew had enough to drink that they wanted to dance!!! Good thing it was 5 o'clock somewhere!!

Bringing all the goodies to the hotel!!! Now to get it all hidden in our luggage.

Roger was thursty after his run to the liquor store.

All the luggage getting loaded to put on the shuttle to take us to the Ruby

We’re Aboard the Ruby Princess

We made it!! All aboard before noon. We all arrived in Fort Lauderdale without incident. Had a great dinner at the Outback last night with a large group of Cruise Critic people.

Having trouble with getting pictures uploaded.... more later

Got all our "beverage shopping" done and are rearranging the luggage to accommodate it all. David up at 3:am and wanted to have a shower. We tried to convince him it was too early... but there was not turning putting him back to bed. We have had a great day. Roger had to take Arlene down for a coffee..... she was getting a little out of hand. David won a prize at the pool today. Just a "port shopping coupon book".

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

OK... Easter is over... now only 4 more sleeps!!!! The Smith's spent Easter in Halifax with the kids and Wendi and Brian.

We had Kevin's mother down for the weekend to spend Easter. Anne, Nick and Matt and Dave came over for supper.

Dan left Fort McMurray Wed. Night and arrived home around 10pm Friday night. Drove thru without stopping!!! (other than a bite to eat – twice). Him and Dave (I think) Tupper took turns driving and drank alot of energy drinks.

There is the Ruby Princess. She is on her way to pick us up!!!!

I am doing this post in word and trying to upload it directly to blogger to see how it works.

It worked awesome.. except the pictures don't come with it so I will have to figure it out before Thursday!!! There may be a few oddball posts before then!!

Last "Cheers" meeting before Cruise

Saturday, Mar 27 we were going to the Pancake Supper at the Fenwick Church - but good for them..... but not for us ... they were sold out!!! eek Well Arlene and Roger invited us to their place for a Pancake supper. I had beans in the freezer so we went home and got them and went back to the Melanson's for supper. YUMMY
"Cheers" before supper. See the red wine in Arlene's hand. We all know what happens when she drinks red wine!!

Our LG for the night!! (liquor getter)

"Cheers" again!!

LG... just get me a drink and pour it in!!! Please...

I need more red wine, Mr. LG.

No you don't!! But I do as I'm told.

Put that camera down. I think Roger is starting to get slightly annoyed. Must be at Arlene for drinking all that red wine.

Can you see my cards? We're playing pass the ace.

Can you see my cards now?

Come on you two.... lighten up. Tell em David!

Don't know what is going on here.

There is that hat! David .. run to Mansours and get Linda one.
It was a great night. And now we are down to single sleeps before we cruise. Can't wait. This will be so much fun. Packing is underway.
